About us
Thornbury Town Band are a brass band based in Thornbury, South
Gloucestershire. We first established in 1980 when we formed as the Thornbury Junior Band. In 1990 we changed our name to Thornbury Castle Band allowing all members of the local communities to join, children and adults alike. In February 2011 it was decided to change our name to Thornbury Town Band but are still open to all the town's local communities.
We play a wide range of music from Film & TV themes, Pop songs, Classical music and Classic brass band numbers. We play many concerts and events throughout the year and also are involved in brass band competitions where we are currently competing in the fourth section.
The band is enthusiastically supported and has around 25 members. The player's ages range from 12 to 80 and practice every Tuesday & Friday from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the Thornbury Sea Cadets Centre.
